DOC

DOC is a community of scientists, investors, and business leaders dedicated to advancing the field of medicine—on both personal and societal levels. Built on rigorous science, authentic collaboration, and trusted relationships, DOC fosters meaningful dialogue and redefines how knowledge drives human wellbeing. Level was commissioned to create a comprehensive brand identity and design system that translates DOC’s values into experience—applying clarity, credibility, exclusivity, and human-centered care across digital, print, and spatial environments.

The inaugural event in Napa Valley (Fall 2024) served as a launch platform for this vision, bringing together leaders in business, technology, and finance with DOC Faculty, who include some of the most respected and accomplished doctors and scientists in the world. This unique convergence fostered a collaborative environment where participants engaged directly with leading experts to advance innovations in health and wellness.

IDENTITY

brand positioning, strategy, concept, design

The DOC identity received a 2025 Graphis Design Annual Silver Award and a 2024 Health & Wellness Design Award from GDUSA.

The DOC logomark formally references to the DNA double helix structure — symbolizing longevity, connection (across people, disciplines, and ideas), and complexity (how can we effectively distill credible and impactful science as we navigate the current health landscape). The strength and clarity of the letterforms exudes seriousness and validity, while the spiraled twist of the forms nod to scientists in an approachable way.

As the inaugural gathering approached, DOC’s mission sharpened: to create a space where science, leadership, and action come together with purpose. This led to the development of a lockup pairing the logomark with the tagline Truth in Medicine. More than a positioning phrase, it serves as a directive—defining DOC’s role in surfacing credible insight, cutting through noise, and building trust.

EVENT websiteS

We also created dedicated digital platforms for DOC’s 2024 and 2025 gatherings. While maintaining consistency with DOC’s overall visual language, the event websites shift in tone and structure over time, prioritizing event marketing and utility for those interested in or attending DOC. These sites support key event functions — invitations, communications, event registration, agenda and session details, faculty bios, sponsors and partners, and programming updates in real time.

Since the sites are made to adapt over time, dynamic content changes based on visitors' registration status and proximity to the event. Key modules — like Faculty and Program — surface or change order as priorities evolve. Registered users can access proprietary content, while public-facing content allows for some exploration, but ultimately entices users to register to view desirable private content. This flexibility ensures the platform stays relevant, functional, and alluring throughout the lifecycle of each DOC gathering.

DOC.HEALTH

Doc.health was recognized with a Digital Design Award from the 2025 GDUSA Competition.

Following the success of DOC 2024, Level designed and developed doc.health — an editorial-forward platform that establishes DOC’s mission, previews upcoming gatherings, archives and summarizes previous events, and shares ongoing insights from its faculty and founders.

As DOC continues to evolve into a broader media and knowledge brand, the site functions as a central expression of that shift—housing everything from curated articles and announcements to recorded talks, program recaps, and opportunities to join in and engage with DOC’s community of scientists, doctors, and leaders in business, technology, and finance.

ENVIRONMENTAL

strategy, concept, design, fabrication management

The DOC identity was extended into the physical environment through scenic design, signage, and wayfinding. We created large-scale backdrops and spatial markers for the main venue, using the brand’s grid, typographic system, and palette to create coherence across the event experience—from arrival to presentation.

We also developed a suite of presentation templates used throughout the event, creating visual continuity across all speaker content. The system ensured consistency in tone and design, helping to elevate complex material with structure, clarity, and credibility.

Event collateral

strategy, concept, design

For the event badges, we designed a system that clearly communicates role, affiliation, access, and special acknowledgements/identifiers at a glance. Each attendee type — Faculty, Participant, Specialist, Partner, Staff — was color-coded and typographically structured for clarity in a live environment.

Additional identifiers such as “Conversant” and “Fellow” and “Founding Member” were layered on select badges to acknowledge and support more nuanced levels of engagement. The system ensured staff and guests could easily navigate interactions while reinforcing the hierarchy and tone of the DOC experience.

living room lab

strategy, concept, design

Living Room Lab is a signature component of the DOC experience — an interactive, science-driven testing suite that invites participants to explore their own health through advanced, clinically validated tools. Designed as a comfortable lounge environment, the Lab showcases a curated selection of early-stage health companies, each endorsed by DOC’s founders and exclusive to its category.

Level developed a visual identity for the Living Room Lab that reflects its unique role within the broader DOC ecosystem: distinct yet connected. The wordmark and layout system were designed to adapt seamlessly across event signage, in-room displays, and digital content, reinforcing the Lab’s position as both an immersive experience and a trusted destination for evidence-based health discovery.

THE DOCUMENT

strategy, concept, design

A year-round extension of DOC’s brand, The DOCUMENT is a monthly dispatch to DOC’s exclusive community — keeping members informed on the latest news and updates, and serving as a platform for announcements, insights, and ongoing dialogue.

The identity was designed to function as a branded editorial extension — the name nods to both evidence-based medicine and the act of chronicling an evolving community. The newsletter template and custom modules — ranging from featured articles and surveys, to image galleries, pull quotes, and lists — are fully modular, expandable, intuitive to use, and consistent with DOC’s brand and ecosystem.
