Graphis Recognizes Lily Auchincloss Foundation Identity

We were thrilled to learn that our visual identity for the Lily Auchincloss Foundation received a prestigious Gold Award in the Graphis Design Annual 2020. This recognition speaks not only to the strength of the design but also to the collaborative vision underpinning the project.

The Lily Auchincloss Foundation, founded in 1997, supports arts, human services, and environmental initiatives across New York City. When they approached Level to develop a refreshed identity, our goal was to honor both the founder and the civic spirit behind the organization. Using Lily’s first name as a starting point, we created a logo built on a modular grid—a visual nod to the city’s own structure and to the interconnected community the foundation serves.

The resulting brand identity echoes the foundation’s ethos: understated, thoughtful, and grounded in collaboration. Complementing the logo, we developed stationery and a full digital rollout—including a refined website that highlights over 1,500 grants awarded since 1997, each one open for exploration and discovery.

For Level, this project was about more than design— it was about using structure, narrative, and typographic flexibility to create a visual language that reflects a foundation’s mission. Being recognized by Graphis is an honor; doing work that feels intentional and meaningful is what truly matters.
